Item Body mass index of a group of Sri Lankan moor children(The Sri Lanka Medical Association. Colombo, 1993) Chandrasekera, M.S.; Wickramanayake, E.R.1128 Sri Lankan moor children (327 boys and 801 girls) from four Islamic Schools in Kandy and Gampola were studied. The boy mass index (MBI) of the girls at all ages were higher than the BMI of the boys. The boys reach a plateau at 15 years and the girls at 14 years. No discordance with sex was observed for the undergraduates and the mentally handicapped children. In the psychiatric patients the prevalence rates for numerical X chromosomal aberrations was 0.005 for males and 0.01 for females
