I n t r o d u c t i o n A survey of the pertinent literature, which is somewhat meagre, reveals s ta tements which are rather inconsistent and conflicting, regarding the average daily quant i ty of toddy which could be tapped from a coconut palm. ; Judging from figures available for the Philippines, India, Malaya and Indonesia, there is doubtlessly a wide divergence in the yield of sap. There appear to be considerable variations in yield from day to A ys.
