Differences in height and weights of the two major ethnic groups, Sinhalese and tamils were not significant. There were marked differences due to varying socio-ecomic-educational levels, especially in the age groups 5 to 10 years . There has been marked secular change in heights and weights during the past 50 years, the increase being more marked among the lower socio-economic groups than among the affluent.Health SciencePhysical developmentSchool childrenSocioeconomicsSecular changeNutritional statusAnthropometric studyEducational statusAuxology of Sri Lankan children, age 5 to 18 years 1.. height, weight and growth incrementsArticle
